I go over a few things a technician looks at and how the car was inspected. It is hard to pass sometimes however if it’s stock and running well it should have no problems.

A short drive to iron out a warm enrichment problem. Sometimes problems with the after start enrichment can throw a tune off and make it seems more is wrong with the car than there actually is. I needed to get up to temp for all the enrichments to turn off. It drove very nice.

Using an advanced motion brushless controller, I managed to get the harmonic drive working properly. I can now make the 5th axis setup on my Fadal 15 running linuxCNC.
Sodium Silicate and Co2 curing

Attempting to create fast curable molds with sodium silicate to make casting multiple copy’s of parts, easier. The microwave cured it the best this far. Still some testing to go as to why Co2 isn’t curing the silica / sand mixture. I’ll link to the sodium silicate I use. broointech.com/product/liquid-glass/

Did you use neutral or alkaline sodium silicate?
it was from michaels outlet store. I can check the bag.

Yes still looks like new. Very minimal cracking when you put it on in the shade and keep it wet to slow dry. I’ll get the name of the color pigment added to the stucco.
It takes a long time to cure with atmospheric CO2, because all the water has to evaporate along with the reaction that needs to take place.

Heat helps cure sodium silicate?
In this case microwaves help it hold together. It limits the mold size I can make as it now has to fit in the microwave. Maybe my solution wasn’t concentrated enough to co2 cure.

Damn I’m in the process of trying to get mine smogged. I’m getting P0420 - I noticed you don’t have a heat shield for your turbo. I don’t have mine on….do you know if I need it on?
Dang good catch. I’m not sure. Most these techs don’t know about these cars so it may not be in their procedure photo checklist.

I don’t however you can search 1.8t pinout ecu and find a similar diagram. Then just verify connections with a volt meter. It’s a 60-2 wheel. Injectors all share same 12v power so just probe for 1-4 and same with ignition coils. Just disconnect them and stick one end of the volt meter in the any pin then verify chassis ground pin, 12v pin, and firing pin to the ecu igniter module or bip373 igbt that you add to megasquirt. Coolant temp was easy to find as well. TPS diagram is online too to find out which wires are tps signal out to the ecu. Only one wire there coming out because the tps already has 5v and gnd. Just tap into the sensors and cut ignition and injector wires and wire straight in. All the wires are there so it’s a clean job. Just probing the wires took a bit.
Nice build. I have a W126 SEC with a blown motor and I picked up a M103 pre-merger AMG motor and I want to do something similar to this. The inline-6 motor's just sound amazing
Also the om603 5 cyl with upgraded fuel plunger elements and a turbo sounds amazing. Almost like the Quattro s1
with such long intake pipe you could have installed intercooler. :P
Might as well made it a bit longer. With e85 and low boost I figured it would be okay. So far so good. These motors are known to crack pistons just NA so I think the tune is good and the theory of e85 and low boost worked. When I can find another engine I will try 1bar and see if it holds up.
How much did it cost you in total to build this? I have the same car 93 190e 2.6 with 139k miles been wanting to work on mine

Cool project. Looking to do the same hopefully to place in a old Duster ( technically it IS a slant six, lol). So the now 36-2 wheel is also a 36-1 at 180deg to take care of the crank timing also ? Or do you also run a crank sensor ? Please explain .
Crank turns twice as fast as cam. 36-2 on half the wheel and 36-2 on the other half. Ecu thinks it’s crank because it’s getting 2 revs per cycle however it’s mounted on cam. So one rev in a cam gives me the signals the ecu is looking for.

Yes single cam everything with stock cluster. The body harness is the same. The engine harness is single cam.

Purple and gray small wires short together to activate voltage. I soldered straight the board for the 220v ac input. The two prongs on the side are the red and black 160v dc output. I’m not sure what would happen if you connect them in series for 320vdc however it might work just fine. Motors draw a lot of current so 60A may not be enough to load the motor but to free spin with a low velocity change could work. I had to use some capacitors for the motor I used because the ps just shuts off when you draw too much current at once like direction change or a big load.
you can try using a current limiting device. I think people put them together using a giant resistor (think water heater element). Thanks for the wire colors. Any idea what the others do? My initial thought was that I wasn't going to get it to turn on if they were for comm's and it needed to see the right "bit".
I bought two of these maybe 2 yrs ago w/the same intention of repurposing. They came in pairs in a rack box as far as I could tell. I also found the part number for the connector but it was pricey. . Can you indicate the color wires you hooked for the plug and switch? I want to run both in series to power an EV motor for bench testing, have you tried something like that or do you see any potential issue in doing so? I suspect the rack box these were intended for would allow it. Very little documentation on these but seemed like a bargain I could not pass.

How did you wire the 3000gt ignition module
3 inputs from ecu That fire 3 outputs 12v and ground It’s all labeled on the module.
That file didn't give a lot of reinforcement for that buffer tower. How did it hold up at the range?

I was thinking it is better to ride it and get more life out of it rather than have the person I got it from Junk it. Restoring it would have been nice though.
How did you done the oil feed for turbo, i'm thinking of making a T adapter to oil preasure sensor
Behind the oil filter is a pressure sensor and that’s where I made the connection. The threads are weird but I found something that worked. A T is a great idea.

Why is the turbo sooooooooo faaaaaaaaaar from the exhaust ports, the turbo lag must be hidious.
What ford throttle position sensor did you use? Currently EFI/manual swapping/boosting my m103
